Therapeutic ultrasound uses high-frequency acoustic waves applied through coupling gel. Its value depends on indication, dosage and treatment area; it is used as a complement rather than a routine stand-alone treatment.

No. Therapeutic ultrasound is a treatment modality, not diagnostic imaging.

Can the patient feel it?
